Hope you enjoyed it!
The Nap Skippers played at St. Albans Preschool in Tucson on Saturday. St Albans wanted family entertainment for their school fundraiser. Proceeds went to improve their outdoor area including a nature path for the kiddos.
As families came into the western-themed party, they were entertained with music by Tucson’s family band, The Nap Skippers!
The abridged set list included original music like “Cars & Trucks” and “Desert Dwellers“. The Nap Skippers also covered this entertaining rendition of the “Spiderman Theme Song”! (Syver might need to get a wireless microphone based on this performance.) Take a look…
The next family-friendly event The Nap Skippers are playing is Tucson Festival of Books.
Saturday March 13th
11am – 11:45am
University of Arizona Campus
The Nap Skippers are playing a fundraiser for St Albans Preschool & Kindergarten. Boots & BBQ includes yummy food, cake walk, live entertainment, and a silent auction.
All proceeds will go towards expanding the children’s outdoor space, garden, bike path and nature walk.

Kids Music by The Nap Skippers
Saturday Jan 9th was a fun day full of kids music and good times! The Nap Skippers played two sets for 2nd Saturday at the Children’s Museum Tucson. It was free for everyone to get in and lots of people came to play!
This first video is of Go Bananas! A song that sticks in you and your kids brain. Don’t be surprised if you start singing this at random times! The audience was full of families enjoying kids music, crafts and playing at the museum!
This second video is of The Nap Skippers covering Twist & Shout by their favorite band, The Beatles! What’s so cool about The Beatles is how timeless their music is. It’s not technically kids music, but it really brings all of the generations together. Julie and Jon actually hired a Beatles cover band for their wedding in 2008 and 8 years later it’s really cool to be sharing the music with their son, Syver!
Nap Skippers play Kids Music for the whole family
5 year old Syver can’t get enough of rocking kids music and dancing as the lead in The Nap Skippers. He also loved being at such a fun hands-on place like the Children’s Museum Tucson. Kids were able to make their own Nap Skippers backstage pass!
Drummer Mom and artist Julie Rustad, also helped kids with crafts set in between The Nap Skippers sets. The art projects were focused on desert animals. Julie was inspired by Syver to create Desert Dwellers Flash Cards. They art educational and feature desert animals from A to Z!
The Nap Skippers play a song called, Desert Dwellers, which uses the animal flash cards to teach kids about Sonoran desert animals. This new song is really catching on and The Nap Skippers are in the process of recording it!
If you have a Tucson family-friendly event…Book The Nap Skippers!
We packed up the tour bus aka mini van headed to a very special event last week.
From car ride to waiting inside the Phoenix Convention Center, it was a day full of nervous energy waiting to perform our 90 second audition.
We were prepared and brought essential items like a LEGO magazine.
Around 3pm we played our 90 sec abridged originals song and boy did it fly by. I’d like to take a delorean back in time to actually remember what we did! We hope we made it to the next round and will anxiously await to hear back sometime before March.
The best part was seeing how happy Syver was. The next day at preschool he told us he told all his teachers and friends. He said one of the kids yelled out, “Syver’s Got Talent!!! Syver’s Got Talent!!!”
It was a very special experience and thanks for all your support so far! In the meantime, we have more shows coming up and we hope to see you there.
The Nap Skippers were interviewed by Monica Garcia on KVOA Channel 4.
Unfortunately, Syver’s teacher’s son was in a very band motorcycle accident. The preschool quickly came together and created a Parent’s Night Out Fundraiser to help raise money to help for his medical costs. At 8pm The Nap Skippers played their music to an adorable audience of preschoolers! Here’s a a few of the songs.
In the end, the preschool raised almost $2,000 and The Nap Skippers had a blast during the event.
